Bell Let’s Talk 2024 – Let’s Change This
Jan 22, 2024
The 2024 Bell Let’s Talk awareness campaign – Let’s change this – highlights the mental health crisis Canadians are facing in very real and personal ways and issues a collective call to action and change.
On January 24 – and every day – we can all take meaningful action to create positive change.
“Without the collective action and support of individuals we cannot create positive change when it comes to mental health. Reducing stigma by learning and talking about mental health, participating in events and fundraising in support of mental health, and nurturing your own mental health are all integral to creating a community where when people need support for the mental health they can receive it,” says Helen Fishburn, CEO of the CMHA Waterloo Wellington.
We encourage everyone to be a part of the change by taking one or more of the following actions:
- Choose a mental health organization to learn about or support, learn more about CMHA WW here.
- Help a loved one struggling with their mental health by learning how to support them, tips can be found here. You can always reach out for support if you are worried about a loved one by calling HERE 24/7 at 1-844-437-3247.
- Ask about how your school, workplace or community is creating change for mental health. Integrated Youth Service (IYS) hubs are creating real change in youth mental health care by offering free, centralized and youth-friendly services when and where youth need them. The IYS movement is rapidly expanding across the country and is adapted to the unique needs of individual provinces/territories and communities, including right here in Waterloo Wellington, The Grove Youth Wellness Hubs have sites in Fergus, Palmerston, Erin, University of Guelph and soon to be at CMHA’s New Children and Youth Services building located at 737 Woolwich Street in Guelph.
- Nurture your own well-being by practicing and learning mental health strategies.
