Psychiatrist (1st Step Program) – Part-Time, Kitchener/Waterloo

We are recruiting for a PSYCHIATRIST (1st Step Program)

This is a part-time role (21 hours/3 days per week) based in Kitchener/Waterloo, ON.

The Psychiatrist will deliver direct and indirect psychiatric services to CMHA WW 1st Step Program clients.

1st Step is an Early Psychosis Intervention Program, providing assessment and treatment for people who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis. 1st Step is a recovery-oriented, evidence-based best practice with an interdisciplinary team of clinicians monitoring clients experiencing their 1st episode of psychosis in a specific catchment. This continuity provides better opportunities for recovery and rehabilitation.

Working in a team based model, the Psychiatrist will be assessing and treating individuals as per the EPION standards who are experiencing psychosis. The Psychiatrist is required to work collaboratively in a team-based care model, including with community partners and primary care.
