Family Caregiver Education & Training Project
Feb 27, 2019
One Third of all Employees also Care for an Older Family Member or Friend.
We also know that employers in Canada lose an estimated $5.5 billion annually in lost productivity due to family caregiving-related absenteeism. It is challenging to balance employment and caring for an older family member or friend. By asking employees what they need to help to balance these responsibilities, we can create resources to better support them and your business.
The Family Caregiver Education & Training project is a 2-year program funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. Our goal is to reach employed family caregivers in Waterloo-Wellington, between the age of 40-65 who look after frail older adults, in order to identify their needs for both self-care and supports for the person they are caring for.
