World Suicide Prevention Day – September 10th

September 10th is World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD). Organized annually by the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) and endorsed by the World Health Organization (WHO) this day represents a global commitment to focus attention on suicide prevention.

The theme for this year’s event is Creating Hope Through Action. Locally the Canadian Mental Health Association Waterloo Wellington and the Here4hope project are working to encourage dialogue that decreases stigma, promotes hope and let’s everyone in the community know there is a role for them to play in preventing suicide.

What can you do?

Consider attending SafeTALK. Suicide Alertness for Everyone (SafeTALK) is a 3.5hr awareness presentation that helps members of the general public to see the signs someone might be struggling, start the conversation, and connect them to support. In recognition of World Suicide Prevention day, September 10th, tickets are only $10 per person! (regular $50) for a special Saturday safeTALK training! Register here: Saturday safeTALK – World Suicide Prevention Day Registration, Sat, Sep 10, 2022 at 9:00 AM | Eventbrite and we are also offering15% off other training with promo code: Back2School –
