Who is this service for?

This service is for children when there are concerns about their development or mental health.

They are 0 to 6 years of age (referred before their 5th birthday). They live in Guelph Wellington.

They are new to CMHA WW – or – they were supported by CMHA WW before and are now coming back.

What supports do we offer in this service?

• The Strong Beginnings Clinic is the first service a young child and their family receive at CMHA WW.

• The clinic is one visit at a CMHA WW office.  The visit is with a few service providers from CMHA WW.

• During the visit, we ask questions and discuss concerns with the caregiver.  We also play with the child.  This helps us learn about the child’s strengths and difficulties. 

• With the caregiver, we make a plan for next steps to support the child’s individual needs.  The plan includes resources that might be helpful, and referrals to services if they are needed.
