CMHA celebrates National Volunteer Week 2021

The power of people working together can bring about monumental changes. That’s why CMHA Waterloo Wellington joins organizations across the country this week in celebrating National Volunteer Week.

The theme this year, The Value of One, The Power of Many, reflects on the acts of kindness by millions of individuals and the magic that happens when we work together towards a common purpose. This past year, we have seen firsthand how powerful volunteering can be, with people supporting family, neighbours and strangers in their community.

Volunteers play a crucial role at CMHA WW. Without the dedication of volunteers, many programs offered by our branch would not be possible. As an added benefit, research shows that doing things for others strengthens our own mental health.

While this past year has looked quite different for volunteers, CMHA WW is actively looking into what opportunities might be available for volunteers that are safe for everyone. If you are interested in volunteering at our branch, visit our Volunteer page for more information. There are also opportunities with CMHA WW’s Self Help website for those interested in offering support to programs offered by peers for people who have experienced a mental health and/or addiction issues.

From all of us at CMHA WW, thank you to the amazing volunteers we work with every day. We truly appreciate your dedication in helping us work towards good mental health for all.
