When Ana’s daughter was 13 years old, she developed an Eating Disorder and became very physically and mentally ill. Not knowing where to turn for help, Ana was introduced to the wonderful Eating Disorders team at CMHA WW. A Nurse Practitioner, Dietitian, Therapist and team worked weekly with Ana’s daughter through her recovery, “CMHA WW is a special organization to me and it helped saved my daughters life. Having lost my job at the time it was so beneficial to me to utilize all the resources free of charge.”
Ana is now a proud employee of Stantec, a global design and delivery firm that cares about the communities they serve. “I nominated CMHA WW for the ‘Giving Where We’re Living’ campaign through Stantec because I am grateful that a resource like the Eating Disorders team is available in our community, but the waitlist can be long and government funding is limited. Having more financial resources can help with more aftercare and more flexible care for working families.”
The ‘Giving Where We’re Living’ campaign has been designed to ensure that Stantec continues to reach out and support the organizations that matter to their staff and make a significant impact to the communities in which they live, work, and play. Employees submit applications featuring their charity of choice and this year CMHA WW’s Eating Disorders team are one of the proud recipients. Thank you Ana and thank you Stantec!
Every year the Eating Disorders team serves 475 clients and provides services and support to individuals and families who are overcoming eating disorders. To learn more about the Eating Disorders program at CMHA WW, click here.
