CMHA WW Observes National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
Sep 25, 2025
On September 30, CMHA Waterloo Wellington stands in solidarity with Indigenous communities to honour the strength and resilience of residential school survivors, their families, and communities.
This day is a time to reflect on Canada’s history and recognize the leadership and achievements of Indigenous peoples in mental health, advocacy, the arts, and beyond. CMHA WW is committed to learning from Indigenous leadership and supporting vibrant, empowered futures.
Moving from Reflection to Action
Reconciliation requires more than acknowledgment—it demands action. The Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action guide us in transforming mental health services to centre Indigenous knowledge, amplify Indigenous voices, and invest in Indigenous-led solutions.
Our Commitment
CMHA WW is working in partnership with Indigenous communities to:
- Support Indigenous-led mental health initiatives rooted in traditional healing.
- Co-create culturally responsive programs.
- Provide staff with cultural awareness training.
- Promote self-determination in mental health and well-being.
