Performance & Accountability: Our Story – Be Leaders in Community Mental Health, Addictions & Developmental Care

OTN – Ontario Telemedicine Network – Always Seeking New and Better Ways to Deliver Care

We are always seeking new and better ways to deliver care. CMHA WW has increased capacity throughout the organization to use PCVC (Personal Computer Videoconferencing) through OTN (Ontario Telemedicine Network). As a result, we saw an 80% increase in clients being seen through PCVC compared to last year. Personal Computer Videoconferencing (PCVC) increases access to care and decreases wait times.

For example: A client who lives in North Wellington could drive to our Mount Forest location instead of driving to Toronto to see a specialist. We are able to connect clients virtually with specialists throughout Ontario.

FACTT – Flexible Assertive Community Treatment Team – Providing Team-Based Care = Better Outcomes for Clients

FACTT is a multidisciplinary team-based approach to support individuals living in the community who are dealing with significant complex mental health issues. We know that providing team-based care equals better outcomes for our clients and that is why we have expanded our FACTT program in Kitchener-Waterloo and Guelph. We have expanded from one team to four. Our teams are now fully staffed which means we have seen an increase in client visits to this program. The number of visits will rise and then taper somewhat as teams get to a full caseload.
