CMHA celebrates National Volunteer Week

CMHA Waterloo Wellington volunteers play a crucial role in our organization and our community. Without the dedication of volunteers, many programs offered by our branch would not be possible.

That’s why from April 23 to 29, CMHA WW joins organizations across the country in celebrating Canada’s 12.7 million volunteers during National Volunteer Week.

Volunteering can take many forms. At CMHAs across the country, volunteers are found working
on special projects or programs, within fundraising activities such as Ride Don’t Hide, or serving
on local boards. All of these activities help improve quality of life for individuals and families who
are affected by mental health issues.

At CMHA WW, we have 400+ volunteers who have given 14,000 hours of service in 2016-17. Volunteers help by offering a listening ear, in school mentoring, driving to life changing appointments, running peer support groups, volunteering for community education programs and so much more! Thank you to our board and committee members for helping to inform our decisions, plan and run events and fundraise.

From all of us at CMHA WW, thank you to the amazing volunteers we work with every day. Click here to view a thank you video from our Executive Director Fred Wagner.

We truly appreciate your dedication in helping us work towards good mental health for all.
