The Strengthening Families programs are for parents and caregivers with children from 7 to 16. The activities include individual games/sessions for parents and children or teens, followed by a family game/ session.
We will be running sessions starting in September in Guelph and October in Arthur.
The Strengthening Families Program (SFP) is a nationally and internationally recognized parenting and family strengthening program for at risk and general population families. SFP is an evidence-based family skills training program found to significantly improve parenting skills and family relationships, reduce problem behaviors and alcohol and drug abuse in children and to improve social competencies and school performance. Child mistreatment also decreases as parents strengthen bonds with their children and learn more effective parenting skills.
